SavvySuzy’s 5th Annual ThankFest 2011 – GiveAway Finale Day

11.30.2011

I was thinking back on how this all got started, my ThankFest, that is.  (For the newbies here just go to the section after the “Hymn Your Blessings” quote below, and you can get the low down on where I got the idea to celebrate the ThankFest month in November.)  What came to mind was that I had decided to use my blog as a way to grow my creativity, because it had stagnated.

So I started playing with other folks’ Creative Commons clipart graphics (gifs), animated gifs and photos over at SU, as I state below.  It progressed to collecting  fall folliage during my Leaf Peeping Tour — plus, I was just getting addicted to looking at and using these photo in my blog posts.

There came a point in time, when I thought that ‘this is getting to be too much’ — ‘I need to get back to working on and  growing something that I’ve actually created.’  Just creating the blog and writing posts wasn’t enough — plus, I was being inspired by all the other talented folks out there doing things.  So I thought God gave me some “gifts” and I need to finally find out what I’m savvy at’… hence the title of my site… ‘SavvySuzy’.  Let’s just say I’m working at getting my “Savvy On”.

I’ve been adding more and more of my own drawings this year (as away to practice), and a few photos that I’ve taken have been added, too.  But on this ThankFest Finale Day I wanted to offer a GiveAway.  It will one of a series of 3 different design Christmas cards that I will be offering in my shop for sale at the end of this week, so I’d appreciate it if you’d check back.  The giveaway is a mixed media 5 1/2 x 8 1/2  drawing of Southwestern Adobe Houses, and the first two people who contact me will receive one each of the image below, as a way of saying Thanks for visiting:

Actually, this was the 5th year we’ve (me and my little avatar) have been doing this (that’s for the newbies just dropping in), as I said before. It all started in, 2007, when I was at SU. I’m still listed there, but they stopped posting the photo-blogging part just recently. I knew it would come to that at some point.

Fortunately, for me, most of the ThankFest has happened here and you can visit it, whenever — just by clicking on this ThankFest link or on the sidebar link at the right.

As I said before, this year’s festival I decided to go back to my roots of sorts — back to appreciating trees and their many uses — like paper (I’m a paper fanatic.)

Things were being listed weekly this year. You can see the whole calendar itinerary in it’s entirety below, and THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO VISITED:

THANKFEST, 2011, Finale BELOW…

11.27.11 – Thankfest Tissue & Toilet Paper Day – These are definitely necessity items that most humans use every day. I did emphasize the most, because you definitely cannot generalize when it comes to toiletries of this kind.

. . . .

11.28.11 – National French Toast Day – Is a delicious breakfast dish to fix every now and then. It’s something that would probably better suited for the weekend as opposed to the week day.

. . .

11.29.11 – Thankfest Scrapbook Day — It’s something that I have not been very consistent with. This will definitely be a good day to change that.
. . . .

11.30.11 – ThankFest Calendar Day – We’re ending the month with the representative for all the months called a Calendar. Yes, calendars are very useful tools, and I really enjoy using them.

A SPECIAL FEATURE THIS YEAR…

We (me & my little avatar) are adding something a little different this year… a little PDF itinerary of the calendar below for you to use to follow along with the ThankFest events this year. Okay! It’s a little crude, but this is the first one — so please overlook those factors. Besides we (me & my little avatar) are offering it up for free. You can click this link right here to get it, if you want to. Otherwise, just click the calendar picture and it will enlarge itself.
