A Self-Improving Chicken Eating a Blueberry Popisicle & Going Back to Basics
9.01.2011“Today is a better day than later.”

. . . . . .
Wow! Where has the summer gone? That’s why the words above make a lot of sense — “today is a better day”, instead of putting it off until a “later” day. And I need to keep it simple while I’m at it — regardless, of whether it’s perfect or not — just do it! Very savvy advice.
It’s time for folks of all ages to head back to school (whatever mode it embodies these days, e.g., literal classroom, virtually via internet, traveling in a car, home sweet home, like my family did.) , etc., etc. Regardless of the mode, the possibility for learning is there.
Whatever way education is taking place, it all falls into the category of “self improvement”, which September happens to be Self Improvement Month. Very clever! Just in time for back to school. It’s all kind of bitter sweet, summer end and new beginnings colliding.
I’m a fan of the “basics” when it comes to learning. Forget about all the “bells and whistles” just give me the basics. I believe schools could save lots of money if they would just go back to “reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmetic”, and leave all the other excessiveness to the families to decide according to their child’s “likes and dislikes”.
So disguised as an un-edible chicken, celebrating National Chicken Month of the edible kind, I’m following the message of a 5 year old above, by using this blog today to self improve during Self Improvement Month (and every month), while eating a blueberry popsicle on Blueberry Popsicle Day & Month (Must have been created from the berries of Blueberry Month.) while going back to basics! Whew!!! I got them all in. That is all the monthly events I’m celebrating this month. Oh! I’m also adding National Organic Harvest Month to the list (click link below).
You may have noticed that my calendar listing has gotten shorter and shorter. I had to cut back! There were just too many events to list, and way too many events that had agendas. So in the name of simplifying and going back to basics, I’ve decided only to put up a few quirky calendar events that I might be inclined to check out myself. Otherwise, I’m just wasting time.
