Things are getting a bit lazy around about now — after sitting under that big ol’ imaginary redwood tree — just before we kick the year into high gear! There’s so much stuff crammed into these last four months of the year. It appears the rest of the year has a lot to do with preparing for these busy days… (more…)

Off The Beaten Track: Food Detours

7.12.2008

Aka, Diet Derailings, could be another way of saying something is awry with the food plan. Is it self sabotage or things on the exterior that are throwing “monkey wrenches” in my way to keep me from staying on track with my eating plan for the summer? Maybe it’s a bit of both. (more…)

I’ve Seen The Light!

fluorescent bulbThere are possibly three camps of people regarding the usefulness of fluorescent lighting: love, hate or somewhere in the middle. I probably am more in the hate category. The “green” folks are pushing these fluorescent lighting in a big time way, now. The only good thing I’m seeing while looking through the lighting issue, would be that it keeps things cool in the summer. Also, they are somewhat useful for growing plants indoors. (more…)

Takin’ A “Chill Pill”…

“Ah, summer - what power you have to make us suffer
and like it.”

Summer has picked up where it left off last year, out here in the west — hot, hot, hot!!! It would be nice if we could share some of this heat with the midwest to help them dry out and us cool off. I’ll quit complaining and prescribe for myself a cool glass of ice tea…like the photo! It’s the elixir of choice around these parts…next to water that is.

By-Way to Creativity!

5.01.2008

I’m still having residual effects from my little prank I did on April Fools’ Day. It reminded me of why I’m blogging. It’s taking me to new places and affording me the opportunity to learn new ideas. It’s inspiring me in so many new ways, just by doing the research for the site. (more…)

“Nuff Said!”

I figured out why I like the TV show, LOST, so much — it’s like a metaphor for life. For instance, in my own life, I was “lost” a long time as to what was my purpose. Some people know early on what their “passion” is, but myself, I didn’t have a clue. I’m still getting detoured from time to time, although, I’m back on track and moving in the right direction. Looking Foolish!

4.01.2008

What does April Fools’ Day have to do with “Self” you might say? Well, for me it had a lots to do with my whole blogging experience and how I’m using it to improve my life. That’s really big for me! It’s not about whether people comment or visit my site, but rather about what I’m learning as I pour my energy and time into this experience. (more…)

Taking Time

3.01.2008

And where exactly might I be going with this “Time”? Might be a possible response to a title like that. Depends on what is actually going on in my life in relation to “Time”, as to whether it’s rhetorical or not, and that possibly might be my point for making the statement in the first place.

Sweet Ideas!

2.01.2008

Okay! I’m into doing a lot of eye exercising this month — and some little hand calisthenics to boot. Now, I’m going to rachet things up a bit, and do some mental exercises. How about looking at some plants that are friendly, and will be easy to plant and maintain come spring. I guess you’d call this making some kind of plan for garden improvements.
