There are possibly three camps of people regarding the usefulness of fluorescent lighting: love, hate or somewhere in the middle. I probably am more in the hate category. The “green” folks are pushing these fluorescent lighting in a big time way, now. The only good thing I’m seeing while looking through the lighting issue, would be that it keeps things cool in the summer. Also, they are somewhat useful for growing plants indoors. (more…)

Summer has picked up where it left off last year, out here in the west — hot, hot, hot!!! It would be nice if we could share some of this heat with the midwest to help them dry out and us cool off. I’ll quit complaining and prescribe for myself a cool glass of ice tea…like the photo! It’s the elixir of choice around these parts…next to water that is.

I figured out why I like the TV show, LOST, so much — it’s like a metaphor for life. For instance, in my own life, I was “lost” a long time as to what was my purpose. Some people know early on what their “passion” is, but myself, I didn’t have a clue. I’m still getting detoured from time to time, although, I’m back on track and moving in the right direction. What does April Fools’ Day have to do with “Self” you might say? Well, for me it had a lots to do with my whole blogging experience and how I’m using it to improve my life. That’s really big for me! It’s not about whether people comment or visit my site, but rather about what I’m learning as I pour my energy and time into this experience. (more…)

And where exactly might I be going with this “Time”? Might be a possible response to a title like that. Depends on what is actually going on in my life in relation to “Time”, as to whether it’s rhetorical or not, and that possibly might be my point for making the statement in the first place.

Okay! I’m into doing a lot of eye exercising this month — and some little hand calisthenics to boot. Now, I’m going to rachet things up a bit, and do some mental exercises. How about looking at some plants that are friendly, and will be easy to plant and maintain come spring. I guess you’d call this making some kind of plan for garden improvements.
