Day 13 ~ 4th Annual ThankFest 2010… “World Kindness Day”

‘Searching for My Inner Savvyness’

13th — World Kindness Day

I wanted to write about a little something that happened to me a few weeks ago.  I went shopping — in the literal world — without my chicken persona and plane, that is.  Here’s what happened…

Went over to the shoe department to check out the shoes, pushing a cart.  I was going to go down this one aisle, but I saw a young woman already coming down it with her cart — we both couldn’t fit at the same time.  So I decided to back out and wait for her to come out.

When she got to the end where I was waiting for her to come out she turned her face away– intentionally ignoring me.  I told her you’re welcome, she still didn’t acknowledge me again.

I didn’t like being snubbed — so I looked at her and said ‘that was rude.’  She still ignored me.  I realized that this was a lost cause.  This person was acting quite ignorant and had some kind of issues.

I told my family about the incident, and they said I shouldn’t have said anything. They were right.    This whole thing would have ended differently if the person had just kind of smiled a little.  There’s lots of rudeness out there, and we have to watch our “P’s & Q’s” when dealing with folks like this.  A little bit of kindness goes a long, long way.

The moral of this little story, is that I believe that what we put out is what we get back.   I get snubbed all the time, but I don’t want to do in kind.  In other wards put out negativity and that’s what we’ll receive back.  Maybe not at first, but at some time it’s going to catch up with us.  A little bit of kindness goes a long way. It all has to do with our intentions.

Which brings me back to… what are my intentions with the ThankFest? It’s all about continuing to be optimistic during these trying economic times or any time really. I have lots to be thankful for and so I wanted to show my appreciation in some way.  No one is obligated to do anything here.

We have five people who have submitted information for the free Savvy Suzy button pin giveaway.  Thank you for visiting and commenting at my comment page.  The buttons will be arriving in a few weeks.

So thanks to everyone, again, for visiting.  A reminder:  we have snacks and restrooms, at the designated areas called, YOUR KITCHEN and YOUR BATHROOM.

Don’t forget, you can check out the *ONGOING FAIR FARE* on my site, and don’t forget to come back each day. Also check out the link below for other events today and the rest of this month. You can click the calendar link below for the complete November Calendar…
