I’ve made a strawberry cream cheese pie before, but never an SRP one, of all things. Tried eating rhubarb pie, too, from a restaurant, at that. But it was kind of tart.
Also, used to eat fresh rhubarb plant by the stalk when I was a kid — dipping it in salt — eating it out of the neighbor’s garden next door. (A quickie snack if you will. However, the leaves are poisonous — so watch out!) Plus, strawberries are one of my family’s favorite fruit.
So this strawberry/rhubarb combo might be a winning pairing. Evidently, someone thought it was good enough to create a day for it. Here are a few places with recipes to try for yourself:
