‘Unexpectedness’…
I know all you visitors are waiting with baited breath for me to write this week’s article reaction. Yeah?! Right!!! Well – anyway — keeping up with my analogies, metaphors, allegories, or whatever the heck they are — food relatives — as far as each LOST episode is concerned. Let me get on with it…
Being that this week’s episode started out with a bucket of “Mr. Cluck’s Chicken” I wanted to use that as a food symbol for what the LOST writer/chefs were cooking up for us this week. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an animated chicken gif, and I didn’t want to draw one (I have since found one, as you can well see.) However, I can still equate the unexpected events with the surprises that were brought to us to chew on…
- Ilana’s big bang
- Michael admits he’s one of the “Whisperers” now
- Blowing up the Black Rock Ship
- Desmond’s dunk in the well
- Sideways Locke’s run-in with Sideways Desmond
But all these events were preceded by Sideways Hurley’s date with Sideways Libby on a picnic. Awwwwww. So I thought why not use as an analogy the unexpectedness you might find in a picnic basket prepared by the likes of the LOST kitchen writing chefs. Contents such as…
- A little sweetness — like Hurley’s date with Libby (She appears to be the aggressor here.)
- Something Shook up — Ilana going out with a bang!
- Uninvited visitors — Michael showing up as a “Whisperer” now and apologizing.
- More unexpectedness – Black Rock, blasted to smithereens.
- This basket is dumped — Loopy Desmond (although quite insiteful) dumped in well by Locke Poseur.
- Picnic basket in a big disarray — Sideways Des runs down Sideways Locke in his wheelchair. Ouch!!! Is it all in the name of “Love” or Whatever? Who knows.

Well, regardless, this picnic episode turned into a lot of craziness on many, many levels. The writers are preparing to take us on a wild and erratic excursion to who knows where, but who cares — it’s been a lot of fun and I’m glued to my TV, regardless of end results. In the meantime…
I’m Still Counting Down
Until the Next Episode!
(This One Was Tasty…
Still Waiting For Another…)
“LOST” Quote, Season 6, Episode XII, “Everybody Loves Hugo“…
“DESMOND: Ooh… that is alot of chicken!
HURLEY: I eat when I’m depressed!
DESMOND: Ah! So what’s her name?
“HURLEY: I met a girl on a blind date the other night.
DESMOND: And you didn’t… it didn’t go how you hoped?
HURLEY: She’s totally awesome… except for one thing. She’s crazy!
DESMOND: Well, all women are a little bit crazy, brother…
HURLEY: No, this one actually lives in the loony bin. I mean, I saw the van. She’s full on nuts. I mean, she started sane… but then, she told me that we already knew each other. And that, I’d remember!
DESMOND: Tell me something… did you believe her when she said she knew you?
HURLEY: Yeah. Kinda…
DESMOND: Now, I say go with your gut. You know, maybe you should… you should try to find out where she thinks she knew you from before you give up on her.
CASHIER: 42! Order 42!
DESMOND: Ah! That’s me, brother. Well, uh… it was nice bumpin’ into ya. “
