Comments on “LOST”, Episode V, “Lighthouse”, aka…

2/26/2010

…OUCH!!!

Why is it that most of the people of color, specifically, black folks, have been violently taken out of this show?  It’s like the 10 ton white elephant in the room that no one really wants to talk about much — even though it’s quite obvious.

So — there — I’ve asked the question.  It just makes me wonder — what is the back story behind the story of “LOST”?

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s still one of the most diverse casts in TV (not that I watch TV that much.)   But to have a particular color of people in there earlier on and to now have most of them succumb to an untimely and extremely brutal demise — is very strange indeed.

I guess we won’t find out about that until after it’s all over — if ever.  Regardless, I would like to see Michael and Walt reunite at some point, along with their dog.  We definitely need some closure there.   Also, it would be good to see more of Rose and Bernard.  They kind of pop up every now and then — adding a little humor here and there.  Besides, they were the elder statespersons of the band of Losties — how many of those survived?

Nevertheless, it’s still my favorite show, but some things that happened in this episode just didn’t make any sense.  Like for instance Claire turning into some type of ‘Rousseau the Rambo’ chick.  I wasn’t buying her in that character.  Hopefully, they won’t dwell there too long.  They need to get things rolling again.  This is the last season — for crying out loud!

The “good vs. evil” thread is becoming a prominent part of the storyline, but it’s still all rather confusing to “moi”.  I’m letting the topic ruminate.  I like to read what others are pontificating on this subject matter.  Definitely have my thoughts about it, but too much for me to be discussing right now.  I need to wait for some more clues.  I’m just savoring each episode.

As far as this episode goes, it was just okay in my book. One of the neat things was to see Jack having a son, who had an uncanny resemblance to him.  I’m wondering who is the mother?  There are lots of speculations out there in the ether.  It reminded me that, again, it would be nice to have seen some kind of reunion with Michael and Walt, but I won’t hold my breath. I’m just putting it out there for the record. That’s all.

I’m Still Counting Down

Until the Next Episode!

(Things are improving somewhat!

Maybe it will pick up steam coming up…)

“LOST” Quote, Season 6, Episode V, “Lighthouse“…

ABC TV (Wikipedia)

Jacob to Hurley: “Jack is here because he has to do something. He can’t be told what that is, he has to find it himself. Sometimes you can just hop in the back of someone’s cab and tell them what to do. Other times you have to let them look out at the ocean for awhile.”

While you’re here why not check out out my past reviews or more so just commenting much of the time… also you can go to ABC.com to see a recent episode — it’s just my serving suggestion.
