Past Articles From 3 Years Ago…

Going back and dusting off some of the articles that I’ve written over the past three years. They had a lot to do with homemaking back then — moreso than I do now, anyway. It’s something that we do regardless, and I’ve been doing it for years!

Looking for a little humor in these redundant type responsibilities can make it more palatable — hence the “tongue-in-cheek” approach to writing about it. Tops on my — ‘Redundant Responsibilities List’ — would be food preparation otherwise known to me as … Food Fight!

Update on Susan Boyle…

Just wanted to add this little bit on the Susan Boyle story. It sounds as though she had been resting and getting the care she sorely needed to deal with the onslaught of media attention.  It’s been reported that she has left the hospital. Now, maybe she can get back home to her everyday life for a bit — before she strikes out again.  There’s news that she will sing for President Obama — besides talks of a movie in the works.

Plucking someone out of obscurity and then putting them under the scrutiny of the tabloid magnifying glass — can be quite overwhelming.   I can’t even imagine what it’s like, but I can get a gist of what goes on from looking at the antics of the news media and paparazzi.   Especially, for someone like, Susan Boyle, who comes from a small town of less that 5,000, can make it that much more daunting an experience.

Someone needs to help her come back down to earth, and get back to basics, whatever that is in terms of normalcy for her.  I suppose this is new territory for the show in this age of the internet and how it’s helping or hurting people — popularity wise.  They are definitely going to have to do something to prepare these people better.

I myself don’t frequent YouTube that much or follow these talent shows on a regular basis.  But her story was just waiting to happen in this time of uncertainty, around the world, and specifically, in America.  Here’s to a speedy recovery for Susan Boyle!
