Sowing Seeds in Spring
3.20.2009 by savvysuzy
I talked about wanting to plant a few seeds this year, and I actually started listing them here. It’s an ongoing process of getting back to what I had wanted to use my blog for in the first place — as a tool — for me to learn new things and to help me grow.
Got off the course a wee bit here and there, but that’s the way things happen in life. So I needed to adjust my compass a little and get back on track.
This is a debut of my very first photo that I took all by myself to post on my blog. Took several and amongst them was this one on the left. I think it’s sweet.
So what you see here are hopefully some seeds that have took and are starting to sprout up. I’m starting small. Taking incremental steps, which will hopefully add to the whole as I move forward.
The flower is called Lantana (for those of you who didn’t know), and I started growing them last year. I wanted something that was easy to grow and were drought tolerant.
They proved to be rather hardy and they are a natural lure for hummingbirds. The only problem — is that they irritate my skin if I brush up against them, so I need to cover up when I need to prune them back, because they do grow profusely.
Oh, by the way, you see the chicken wire there — well, it’s part of the strategy to keep my neighbor’s cat out of my garden beds.
