…is I just don’t buy too much stuff!
Last, but not least — for a number of years now I haven’t partaken in Black Friday or done much shopping leading up to the Christmas holiday (beyond shopping out of necessity.) My sons have found some online bargains, however. It’s all part of the “less is more” attitude and learning from our financial circumstances. Oh, sure, I like to shop — that is if I had the money to spare, to pick up something when I see it — which I don’t. But honestly, I’ve never liked having to hunt down things for any reason. I prefer to ‘serendipity shop‘ for things — finding things unexpectedly.
I purchased an e book on line, for the first time, a few weeks ago, which is a different way of getting information. I like that I can reprint the images from there again and again. I do shop on line on occasion for other things, too. It’s all been about learning to embrace the words, actions or choices that I can do on a consistent basis.
So there you have it — the eighth ~ simple little thing ~ to help my family get by is…don’t buy too much stuff that we can’t afford. Like I said before, I’ll pick up a few small items here and there, but mostly I’ve been towing the line. These are just a few of the tactics that we use to keep moving forward. No rocket science here — just the basics.
Thanks for checking out all of my ThankFest fare!
