“Tree”
8.28.2008 by Savvy Suzy
I think that I shall never see…
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

……
Taking time to enjoy the last few days of August
before the unofficial end of summer comes my
way on Labor Day.
It’s been a consistently muggy summer out this way,
which is unusual, because it’s normally dry.
So I just feel like sitting under something like this big
ol’ redwood tree to ponder.
Awww…the end of summer…sigh…it brings
a bitter-sweetness to mind…
Oh…the end of August!
What better way to celebrate the day —
than doing nothing.
yay…sigh ![]()

Also, in honor of Labor Day, a little something to do after getting tired of doing nothing — an article that I wrote earlier this year featuring an article on happiness and work:
- L.A. Times: “Happy at job? It’s how you look at it”
I did a little work to find this information on “earthquakes” that I needed to find. Here are various links:
- SunsetMagazine.com: Earthquake Guide.
- Popular Mechanics.com: “Survive Anything“
- Sixwise.com: Midwest Earthquake
