Rockin’ & Rollin’!!!

Things were shaken up a bit around these parts… EARTHQUAKE … Yikes!!! We haven’t had one like that in almost fifteen years. I sprained my ankle attempting to go downstairs to get under the dining room table, which is quite sturdy. It’s supposed to be better than standing in a door sash, which the experts say have caused problems in the past.) (more…)

Funky “Techno Chicken”

7/27/2008

I was sent a link by a new friend at SU, SpaceAgeSage. She grew up on a farm with some of my “fine feathered friends”. She was kind enough to send me a link of a “toe tappin’” one… that had me cluckin! I couldn’t resist posting it: (more…)

Taming The Beast: RSS Feeds

7/24/2008

I’m always looking for ways to help me with the KISSS (Keep It Sweet, Savvy, & Simple) approach to doing things, because I’ve learned from getting no where by attempting to do things the hard way. Have you had this affliction too? (more…)

Problogger Shares The Love!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Problogger Shares The Love!!!

That was a lot of fun! Thanks goes out to Problogger for offering a summer-time diversion that was totally unexpected! Those are the best kind.

In turn, I want to thank everyone who has come through Problogger to pay a visit to my site, that he so graciously invited me and others to post our various social networks we frequent in his comment section. He’s having a list compiled, that he plans to eventually showcase on his site in the future. Oh the Love!!! ;)

Update #1: I’ve gotten one of Problogger’s compiled lists and this one has all the Twitter Folks!

Update #2: Problogger has listed bloggers from StumbleUpon and Digg, who submitted their sites.

Update #3: It appears that Problogger has run into some snags over at SU: “Problogger is Banned from StumbleUpon”.

Update #4: It appears that Problogger has been unbanned and on speaking terms with SU once again : “How Social Media Helped Me Get Unbanned from a Social Media Site in 1 Hour and 44 Minutes”

Yuck!

7/21/2008

I didn’t intend to focus so much attention on the topic of Pets (since I’m not really a pet person), but I was just reading my various news feeds for the day when I came across this article. There appears to be a big problem with these pets, after they fall out of favor with some of these irresponsible owners. I had heard that some of them were ending up in soap products, but the list of uses is quite staggering and quite frankly, gross! I’m going to pay even closer attention to what I buy.

After this post, I want to get back to checking out the simple, light hearted fare out there for the summer. Somehow, I took a sharp detour, but now I need to get back on track with the KISS (Keep It Sweet & Simple) approach.

Off The Beaten Track: Food Detours

7/12/2008

Aka, Diet Derailings, could be another way of saying something is awry with the food plan. Is it self sabotage or things on the exterior that are throwing “monkey wrenches” in my way to keep me from staying on track with my eating plan for the summer? Maybe it’s a bit of both. (more…)

Those Crazy Chicagoans!

7/5/2008

Enough of my rantings! I’m ready for a little fun. Me and my alter ego are taking a little jaunt out of town through the ether…and over to the Midwest…to the likes of Chicago, to be exact. Just so happens, it’s my home state. What prompted this little trip, you might ask? Well, I was looking at some pictures on Yahoo!news.com, when a photo caught my eye (I’d show it, but they don’t allow, but I went and found similar one at their other site, Flickr.com.) Anyway, I did a double take, because this picture was highly unusual… (more…)

“Paper or Plastic?”

7/4/2008

It appears, that in honor of 4th of July, I’m taking to a national past time…ranting. I plan on using the new “All American soapbox”…a blog…to get up and rant about things I have issues with. One of those issues, the big ongoing debate: “Paper or plastic?” Do you get asked that question every time you go to the supermarket/grocery store? I used to get asked all the time, but it has subsided somewhat in recent months. The question is starting to heat up. (more…)

Me & My Neighbor’s Cat, Part II

7/2/2008

All right you cat lovers…don’t get in a hissy fit! Yes, I’m still dealing with the neighbor’s cat. And no…there I’m saying it! I’m not a cat lover. I don’t hate them…just neutral. As far as this cat goes…I’ve been advised that I could contact the Humane Society and have them cart this nasty cat away, but I don’t want to do that. (more…)
