I’m Done…Finally! (Lost, Episode #12, Parts 2 & 3)

You know, I saw the Lost Finale, “There’s No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3″, on the day it actually happened, but they took us on this “roller coaster” emotional ride — that I quite frankly, don’t know where to start to write my review! I’ll just have to start by saying — WHAT A FANTASTIC RIDE!!! I could use all types of words to describe it, like: angst, anxious, hopeful, sad, angry, hateful, revengeful, amazing, sweet, lovely, happy, morbid, scary and creepy — just for starters. But keeping in line with the summer modus operandi around my nest of using the “K.I.S.S.” approach (Keep It Sweet & Simple) — I plan to take a minimalist approach with this article:

Jumping right into the fray: They hint around that this may well be a coming home of sorts for Charlotte, who may have been born on the island. The scuttlebutt, is that she may be Ben’s actual daughter…flashing forward, we have Sun joining ranks with Widmore, for whatever reason…kind of turning into a more sophisticated version of Kate…’Ms. Tough Chick’, if you will. Speaking of Kate, who’s getting weird phone calls and having dreams of a spooky apparition of Claire showing up to say something about “not” taking Aaron back to the island. Sayid turning up at the mental institution to take Hurley somewhere to hide…then flashing back to the island, we have the ship blowing up with Michael staying in the hull when he is confronted by creepy, Christian Shepherd…saying…”you can go now”…what does that mean? But we’re supposed to think he’s blown to smithereens, with possibly Jin having a chance to jump into the ocean, but who knows? We have Keamy and the gang being decimated by several Losties, who also helped break Frank loose from the shackles of the helicopter …however, they survive the onslaught by the reappearance of smokey-eyed, Richard and the other Others…this allows the O6 to take off with a hole in the ‘copter and Sawyer, unexpectedly…however, he dramatically jumps off (some say heroically) to lighten the load of the leaking-fuel ‘copter, not before giving Kate a big gushy kiss and whispers something of importance in her ear…they finally see the ship, but they can land only long enough to get some fuel and to pick up another unexpected, survivor of the island, Desmond, just before the thing blows to smithereens, as I’ve mentioned before…after that they finally had to crash land in the water because the island DISAPPEARED INTO THIN AIR (thanks to Ben and his antics)…they all survived (but it almost looked like Des was a goner) and are just floating on a rubber raft…then what should come floating through the dark, but a boat with the likes of Penny on it, (I didn’t see it coming…I thought it would happen towards the end, but you never know with this show.) and they finally get to have their moment (A moment that was anticlimactic, due to all of the other stuff going down in this finale, but a sweet and welcome moment, nevertheless.) Daniel is stuck out in the ocean with a group of Losties and Miles…Ben and Locke entertain Keamy, who got a second wind to go after Ben, before he gets knocked off by Ben, in spite of him being wired for a suicide mission with a designator attached…which leaves Locke in charge of the other Others… Ben moves the wheel… then has to leave through some kind of portal, because he moved the island and can’t go back or is that just another fabrication? Rose, Bernard, Victor, Sawyer, Charlotte, Locke and Juliet are still on the island…we have what appears to be a happy ending with the O6 taking a boat to return to civilization and leaving Des and Penny to fend for themselves…then we have the morbidly creepy forward flashing ending where Jack just can’t wait to see who’s in the coffin and being spooked by the likes of creepy Ben, who was hiding out in the corner (so weird). Then ghoulishly the camera pans up and over the lid, looking down and into the coffin…we finally find out who this Jeremy Bentham is…turning out to be Locke, of all people. I didn’t see that coming either. As you can see, this finale was some kind of big time amusement park, roller coaster ride that ended with a trip through a macabre ghost house. Quite Shocking — since Locke didn’t want to leave the island, because he’d be back in the wheel chair, but Ben is saying they’ve got to go back and carry Locke too! What???!!! This is where I jump off of this crazy review, because just reiterating what happened is exhausting. I can use a break from the show for eight months, so I can recover from this action packed — cliff-hanging — adrenalin rushing saga. Phew!!!! This is the most minimalist I can get for now — one paragraph or shall I say two?! ;)
