Summer has picked up where it left off last year, out here in the west — hot, hot, hot!!! It would be nice if we could share some of this heat with the midwest to help them dry out and us cool off. I’ll quit complaining and prescribe for myself a cool glass of ice tea…like the photo! It’s the elixir of choice around these parts…next to water that is.

I’ve been busy making changes, on and off the internet. So busy, that I totally forgot something. I remembered earlier on and had planned on doing something…however, I didn’t make a note of it (The only note I made, was mentally… but my brain was overloaded and as things got added…something had to get pushed off the list.) You know, I saw the Lost Finale, “There’s No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3″, on the day it actually happened, but they took us on this “roller coaster” emotional ride — that I quite frankly, don’t know where to start to write my review! I’ll just have to start by saying — WHAT A FANTASTIC RIDE!!! I could use all types of words to describe it, like: angst, anxious, hopeful, sad, angry, hateful, revengeful, amazing, sweet, lovely, happy, morbid, scary and creepy — just for starters. Summer has unofficially started with Memorial Day. Although, it’s been feeling like summer around these parts for a while. It got me to thinking, ‘I need to continue the simplicity theme all summer long.’ I’ve got my flip flops on and I’m preparing to do just that. (more…)

I was reading my Twitter feed, when I noticed a link posted by Problogger, Darren Rowse, during the Memorial Day weekend — so I went over to check it out. The author, Nadeesha Cabral, has a great analogy going in this article, Bloggers are Like Pawns on a Chessboard. I mentioned to family that I’ve felt like a “pawn”, myself, in various working situations. But the message I’m getting from the article is that it’s up to us where we end up in the game. (more…)
