Difficulty Writing About Money, Part III
5.05.2008 by Savvy SuzyWell, I wasn’t sure how I was going to approach my topic of difficulty this month, but as usual, it kind of just came to me as I moved through the process. The “cat was let out of the bag” in the previous article, that I was actually, unemployed. Yeesh! I said it again. So duh, that’s the reason I find it difficult to discuss the word “Money”! It’s a given.

So what am I doing about it? I am searching continuously. I never stop looking! This is not the first time I’ve been out of work. It’s happened several times over the past few years. So are you thinking, “What is her problem?” I have to say with all sincerity: I have no problem.
There is no reason that I should be out of work. I have skills and do my best when I’m in there working for these companies. Because I feel, to use an old phrase, it is truly a “win/win” proposition. I help them and they in turn help me by paying me. It should be as simple as that, but it hasn’t been for me.
I was somewhat embarrassed to talk about it in this forum, initially. But there again, I had an epiphany last month, which made me realize that I need to get this off my chest. It’s good for me to talk about it, maybe someone else is going through the same thing or I hopefully will be able to find a lot of good resources on the topic and related ones.
I’m learning to look for the good in trying situations, so this one has been a huge learning experience for me. One of which is, I’m in the process of having my own business. I’ve had various businesses in the past, but they didn’t really stick. So now I’m seeing a melding of all my skills into this one process: blogging. It’s a slow process, which means it’s not profitable right now, but I enjoy it and plan to keep plucking away. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to just write about “Money” minus the difficulty! But until then I’ll keep plucking away, because I’d do it regardless of the circumstances.
Here’s an article from Yahoo! News, “Americans Unload Prized Belongings to Make Ends Meet”, describing how the economy and unemployment are forcing some to take drastic measures to keep going. Plus, also, here are some things I do from time to time or plan to do in the future to economize:
