Some Kind of Epiphany!

April was a very…

…month for me. What started out as a prank for April Fools’ Day, ended up as some kind of…

Epiphany ~ (noun) a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience. (Dictionary.com)

Also, a more indepth explanation as to what my purpose is for blogging. After using some semi-foul language (that was intended to be an April Fools’ prank) it made me think of another word that makes people bristle when they hear it.

The word is being used repeatedly every day on the internet, TV, radio, newspapers and various other media outlets. There is a stigma towards people being branded with the word. It has very negative connotations.

So are you wondering what word is this I’m talking about? Enough with the suspense, the negative word is, UNEMPLOYED! Yikes, I actually said it out loud. Mercy me! I should be ashamed of myself for uttering such a despicable word.

Why am I even bringing this terrible word up, would probably be your next question, I’m assuming? Well, unfortunately, for me, I am one of the growing number of people who are UNEMPLOYED these days. There I’ve said it again! Yes, me, the self-anointed savvy one, Savvy Suzy, is and has been unemployed for a little over a year.

Not only am I unemployed, but this is one of several, side railings for me over the course of several years. Oh, I’m singing like a canary now! What has come over me! Well, I would have said something before now, but I didn’t want to appear to be wanting sympathy. I alluded to the fact in my about page when I first started blogging. After all, I’m out here in the ether with a lot of talented and working people, either for an employer or for themselves.

However, just because I’m mentioning it now, that I am not working (Oh, I do have work to do…I do have to maintain a home.) doesn’t mean that I want any sympathy now. On the contrary! I may not be a spring chicken, but this chicken still has a lot of spring in her steps. I keep moving forward. I pull my own weight, even when it’s being weighed down — like now!

There is no good reason for me to be unemployed, because I have skills, but I believe that GOD will make it known in due time, why this keeps happening. So I keep doing my part (I keep looking for work and working at starting a business. No need for me to get all in some kind of a “hissy fit”! What good would it do? So there, a little “True Confessions” time.

No this is no ploy to get you to comment either. It’s kind of embarrassing. I just wanted to get it off my chest, and I thought it would be a good topic to discuss in all my sections this month and various other times in the future. I guess I’m making it another ongoing series, like my, ‘Difficulty Writing About Money’ series. Now you see why! ;)
