Simple Food Fare & Gluten Free, Too!

5.01.2008 by Savvy Suzy

When it comes to cooking I am going to have to honestly say that I’m somewhat challenged. I’m a decent cook, let me put it like that, but having allergies, I have to search out more creative ways of making various dishes. So for that reason alone, it has made me want to search out simpler fare.

With all the new gadgets we have now to cook with, and food options that are being offered up, you’d think it would be easier to prepare all the meals. Well it’s not. Especially when you have allergies to this and that, and the various food producers keep tampering with the crops and animals. It’s like playing some kind of game called How To Feed You & Your Family — Without Getting Broadsided.

One day something is good for you — then the next day they say it’s bad — then it’s good — then it’s bad! You know the scenario — “Enough already!” It’s an ongoing ‘Food Fight!’

Also, I just found out it is Celiac Disease Awareness Month, which is becoming a fast growing problem. My question is why? Is it caused by all the tampering with the food or what? Or is it another food fad to tap into our wallets where it hits home? So I’ll be adding links to various sites who are creating delicious simple foods that are gluten free along with other ’simple food fare’.

Just give me some simple food menus and recipes that are easy to prepare without using over ten different ingredients, preferably around five or six. That’s my game plan — now it’s time for me and my alter ego to get going to check out all the new sites that will help me get a grip:
