“Nuff Said!”

I figured out why I like the TV show, LOST, so much — it’s like a metaphor for life. For instance, in my own life, I was “lost” a long time as to what was my purpose. Some people know early on what their “passion” is, but myself, I didn’t have a clue. I’m still getting detoured from time to time, although, I’m back on track and moving in the right direction.
Oh, maybe there were clues around me all the time, but I couldn’t see them for the foggy mist clouding up my view. Now, those blinders are coming off bit by bit and piece by piece. As the saying goes, “It’s better late than never.”
It appears that I’ve been moving in the direction I needed to be going, in a meandering kind of a way, all the time. Like I said, straying off the main course here and there, but eventually getting back on again to continue my journey.
What a wacky journey it has been, too. I thought my life was quite mundane, but that wasn’t true. There actually was a lot of stuff going on — I just learned early on how to kind of insulate myself from certain things. That fog can get rather thick at times.
I think everyone probably feels like they’re lost time to time. We all kind of show up on this big round ball, unexpectedly, and we don’t really know what to expect after this little stay is over. So the show is tapping in to something that is akin to all of us, whether we want to acknowledge it or not.
Now, I just had something strange happen while writing this article. I was adding the link up at the top for this same page at Lostpedia, and there at the bottom is a quote from the co-creator of the show, Damon Lindelof, saying the same thing. I swear this is the first time I’m seeing this:
“This show is about people who are metaphorically lost in their lives, who get on an airplane, and crash on an island, and become physically lost on the planet Earth. And once they are able to metaphorically find themselves in their lives again, they will be able to physically find themselves in the world again. When you look at the entire show, that’s what it will look like. That’s what it’s always been about.”
synchronicity (noun) Coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related, conceived in Jungian theory as an explanatory principle on the same order as causality. (Dictionary.com)
…was somewhat in action. Another word that I like. I have things happen occasionally like that, but not where I’m actually writing it down in that moment. I had to do a “double take” to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. My son said, maybe I heard it and forgot, but I like my interpretation better.
I was just writing this article because the show is getting ready to return on the 24th, and I’ve been having a few insights coming out of my theme being dedicated to April Fools’ Day the entire month. So I had linked to the page before but hadn’t really read everything.
That was really neat — I hope that happens again. I love stuff like that. There are probably other names for it, but I have no idea right now. I’ll wait for it to show up eventually.
It’s just reiterating my whole point of why I like the show. Well, what else can I say, “Nuff said!”
Have you had anything like that happen to you? Just thought I would ask. Or do you know what that’s called when something like that happens?
P.S. Maybe the word…
intuitive (adjective) perceived by, resulting from, or involving intuition: intuitive knowledge. (Dictionary.com)
…be involved, but I believe it synchronicity was more like the word I was looking for.
