“Lost” In Time! (Episode #5)

2.29.2008 by Savvy Suzy

Although, now, it’s time for me to get “Lost” again! I’m talking about my favorite show, “Lost”, of course, and what a fantastic episode (#5, “The Constant”)! It was just like watching a movie. I’ve said it before, Desmond, is my favorite character on the show. He’s not half bad to to look at, but more importantly, his character is deep! His back stories are the best ones I’ve seen. I like the mystical elements that his whole character imbibe. This is the first show and character that I had ever cared enough about to express my opinions on. So take that for whatever it’s worth.

My take on the episode, is that it gives hope and optimism to what can be rather negative and depressing depictions with some of the other characters on the show. The forward flashing episodes with some of the “Oceanic Six” have been quite nasty. So the story about Desmond was all very uplifting with he and Penny.

Now, Penny’s, father , and the crew of that freighter, Kahana, are another story. I think we’ll be seeing more of, Mr. Widmore, since we found out that he bought the journal of the Black Rock Ship’s, first mate. He seems rather sinister. I agree with someone from another board that I was reading — Mr. Widmore — could very well possibly be the captain of that freighter. But would he get his hands dirty like that, is the question?

Speaking of dirty hands. The question has been asked on other sites, about why was, Widmore, turning on the restroom faucet, when talking to Desmond, with a towel? Plus it appears that he left the water on purposedly. Was it to get Desmond’s fingerprints or something else?

Can’t forget about that rag tag crew on the freighter. What a motley crew that is. Also, curious as to who actually opened that door and let them out of that cabin on the boat? Still lots of questions to be answered.

A Des & Penny Moment!

Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh! One of those movie type moments you want to see again and again and again! (And I can’t remember having any of those in recent memory — that’s just shows how good it was to me.) Such a lovely ending to that story. I’m not a gushy — gushy — romantic at heart, but this one was tuggin’ on my heart strings a bit. They should have aired that segment on Valentines Day. Desmond who was dying, being saved in the future time, by Penny, who hated his guts in the past — what a lovely ending. This was the best thing I’ve ever seen on TV, by far!!! Such a classy scene, compared to the Sawyer & Kate Moment (which I thought was rather sleazy.) “It was Enough…Perfect!”
