Matters of the Heart
2.01.2008 by Savvy Suzy
In spite of the SAD effect — in spite of the general January blahs — in spite of not wanting to make too many changes at the same time — I’ve had to move forward and make changes for the new year, regardless. A major one for me that you can see is my new site design. I’m getting the front page of my nest redecorated and then the rest of the sections in due time. Plus a new little vehicle and a little sprucing up to take me/us (me and my chicken avatar) to all these different places out there and to display what we/I find.
I’ve been dropping hints since way back at the end of summer, about my preparing to take flight, and now it’s actually coming to fruition. It’s still a work in progress. Plus, I’ve had to make other changes here and there. I’ll continue to do so in the coming weeks. No sense in shutting down — I’ll just keep doing things on the fly! Pun intended.
As I’ve said before, not that anyone paid attention, my site is my workshop or lab that I like to play around with — changing things around or adding new ideas to the mix, is fun for me.
But now we’re moving forward a bit — into February, the month designated for matters of the heart. This year, however, it’s also tagged as “leap year”, too. I asked the question before: What is love? The link here was a result of a Google search, that breaks the biblical description of love down to our language we use today — along with an explanation of the different types of love. This type is good for the heart and I want to become better acquainted with it. Here is a version of “agape love” or unconditional love, using today’s language:
it is not arrogant or rude.
LOVE does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong,
but rejoices in what’s right.
LOVE bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
LOVE never ends …
So faith, hope, love abide, these three,
but the greatest of these
is LOVE
