Thankful For Family, Friends, Home & Pie!
11.01.2007 by savvysuzyI am definitely a pie person! And no better time than now. Talkin’ about “comfort food.” Pie is synonymous with “comfort.” We can make room for a little piece of pie, can’t we? And make it “gluten-free” at that! Oh! And it goes without saying, that I’m thankful for my family and home. Not to forget to mention friends that come my way. It’s a given!
But, pies, now, they just add to the mix — making it warmer and cozier, in the way that they do. “Apple Pie,” America’s favorite, “all time staple” of what’s good. I can’t leave out my family’s favorite, besides apple pie — a big cheesy pizza, with certain toppings, is the #1 delicacy at our table!

So I was happy to see this article in Country Home Magazine just reminded me, I needed to find some links on this delicious subject. The author, Patty Piner, writes cookbooks, and she offered up a “squash pie” and “mock” cherry recipes that I had never heard of before. Not that I’ve tried that many. The stories she added along with the recipes were delightful.
Who concocted the pie anyway? Well, I wanted to find out — so I did a little search and came up with lots of information and examples of the subject at hand. So enjoy the list (I’ll be adding to it as I go,) and while you’re at it, let me know your favorite pie?
