Halloween: Where Did it Come From?
10.31.2007 by savvysuzyWe’re already at the main “Holiday Season” again for us here in the United States. Halloween used to be one of those holidays mainly for the kiddies — when they would go door to door, but because of incidents with tainted candy, it has evolved into elaborate indoor parties for kiddies and grownups alike.
I had fun when my sons were little creating fun character costumes, but now there appears to be a morbid aspect to a lot of the costumes, since the grownups have gotten involved. Many religious-minded out there create costumes based on biblical characters, because of the negative spiritual connotations and what the ritual means.
Since the holiday like others, conjures up all kinds of opinions, I decided to do a little research behind the lore:
