Wardrobe Savvy

When it comes to dressing — men have it over us women. They keep it simple, comfortable and stylish for the most part. As far as what to wear — they don’t have much choice (hence “Men’s Wear Daily”). They do it well. I guess that’s why it’s easy for them to stay neat.  So I don’t have much to say to them.

But us women — “heaven help us” — we’ve got tons of options, and therein lies the problem. Lot of us have so much stuff from all that “shoppin’ and droppin’”, that we don’t know what to wear — so we wear too much at the same time (I’ve had my moments). It just came to me — the “droppin’” part is actually all that cash being “shelled out”. There’s a lot of really hideous and uncomfortable stuff out there to buy — specifically shoes.

Now, I’m not saying I’m some kind of “fashionista” or that anyone has said I dress all that well. No one really comments on how I dress, so maybe that’s a good thing. I take that back — I do get a compliment “once in a blue moon”. I’m not dressing to stand out that much — rather “low key”.

Nevertheless, me, myself, and I, feel that the way I dress is decent. I’m learning, over time, what’s best for me, by picking up little tips here and there. Besides, my common sense finally kicked in to help me see what was best. Occasionally, I have a relapse, but I’m continually a “work in progress”.

I have learned to dress for cost first, comfort second and style last. The style does draw me to a piece, but if the price range is out of my budget — then forget it. If someone likes what I wear that’s good, but it’s all about “ME” when it comes to fashion. Especially shoes. So I like to keep up on a few of the trends to stay current, but mostly I rely on classics.
