Multi-Colored Wonders

I decided to write an article on mine and my two sons’ favorite toy — Legos. Somehow I missed the little multi-colored blocks when I was little, but I did have the Lincoln Logs that I really didn’t know what to do with. But Legos — that’s another story.

Was I happy when I discovered them, and so were my kids. I use to love sitting down building things with them. They were so much fun! We would build all kinds of things. And then the time came when we had to let them go.

You see we moved, and the new place didn’t accommodate the elaborate type spreads we would do when they were younger. We still have the boxes and boxes of Legos packed away. They’ll be able to share them when they have their own kids.

The Museum of Play (www.strongmuseum.org) in Rochester, New York, sited Legos as the “Toy of the Century”. They were so right on! If you are not familiar with these little multi-colored wonders, I’ve found two sites that showcase what can be done with them, by two guys who have pretty much made careers out of playing with Legos:
