Dressin’ for Success
8.01.2006 by Savvy SuzyWhat are the rules in the workplace these days when it comes to fashion? Are there any rules at all, could be another question? Well, in some offices, one would wonder — what is the exact protocol for dress? I’ve been in and out of the workplace scene – to have my own views on the subject.
At any rate, it would appear that men have us women beat when it comes to “Dressing for Success.” They don’t have the plethora of choices to confuse the issue when it’s time to decide, what to wear. “Mens’ Wear Daily” uses the “KISS” approach — Keep It Sweet & Simple.
Some women, like me, like the simplicity of this way of dressing, which can be made your own. For other great ideas on the subject of what to wear take a look at:
- Dressingwell.com: Resource Guide.
- About.com: “Clothes Make the Man (or Woman)”

On the other hand, we women, for the most part, seem to conform to the ‘MAD’ approach when it comes to what to wear –’Miserable and Disgusted.’ Why, you say, do we think we need to be continuously searching for the latest trends?! Do we smell another psychological impact underneath this urge to splurge. I don’t want to go there! When it comes to office wear, “classic” is better than “trendy”, in my biased opinion, and less is better than more. What do you think about this topic? Let me know.
